Why choose online coaching?
Let me first clarify that nothing will beat the face-to-face experience that a 1-1 personal training session can give you. With an experienced professional coach by your side, you can be assured that your form is spot on and corrections can be made there and then, removing the risk of injury as much as possible. There is also the verbal motivation to keep you going and help you squeeze out those last couple of reps when you otherwise may have stopped, ensuring you are pushing yourself and putting in your best effort, which can of course be more difficult to do by yourself.
With that said, online coaching also provides it’s own benefits. First & foremost, the option of training whenever, wherever you want. With face-face personal training, training times & dates usually have to be set in advance and although that can be beneficial in ensuring you have a fixed time to do your workout, it can also be limiting, as life barriers can often get in the way and sometimes sessions have to be cancelled, often pushing them back by another week. This barrier is completely removed with online coaching, as upon receiving your workouts /nutrition goals and weekly goals, at the beginning of each week, you will be able to train on days and times that are most convenient to you and your lifestyle.
Value for money
Another great benefit to online coaching is that more often than not it is significantly cheaper than face-face training. The main reason being that I would obviously not physically be there with you in the session. However, just because I’m not there for the workout, doesn’t mean you are on your own. As you will see below from the number of different aspects of what’s included in the online coaching package, on of the biggest areas that I feel very strongly about is communication and ensuring that you know I am 100% invested in your goals and committed to working together to achieve them.
What’s included with your online coaching package?
Bespoke training plans
Each week, you will be sent your bespoke training plans, detailing the exercises to be carried out, number of reps and sets, weight in kg to be used, along with rest times and alternative exercises if the primary exercise is not possible.
You will also be given a list of stretches to be carried out upon completion of each workout.
As nutrition is a key aspect of your overall health and wellness, it will be an important part of the package. Your nutrition will first be reviewed via a 5 food diary and analysed together on our first call. This will be to identify what your energy intake v energy output looks like on an average daily basis, as well as looking at any eating habits you may have developed e.g. snacking when stressed or tired etc. Lastly, we will also look at the nutritional value of the food that’s being taken in. Upon these results, over the course of your training, we will implement easy to follow weekly changes, to correct your nutrition only and wherever it’s needed, in order to provide you with the best possible results and knowledge for long-term weight management. Food diary’s will then be reviewed on a monthly basis to monitor progress and nutrient intake.
Communication is key, especially when it comes to online coaching. At the end of the day, you, the client are doing the work in the gym and so it’s imperative you have the right level of support throughout, so that you can go into those workouts ready and prepared every time.
The first call we will have will discuss a variety of areas, which will include but are not limited to the following. Firstly and most importantly, your goals and what you are aiming to achieve. We will also discuss your current lifestyle, fitness levels, eating habits, sleep patterns, stress levels, life barriers etc.
This is to give me an idea on how best to tailor your programme to fit your unique lifestyle & physicality, in order to help you get the best possible long term results.
2 x 30-45 min FaceTime calls per week
Why FaceTime? Because it’s more personable and as a client paying for an online service, you deserve to know that as your coach, you can see that I’m fully invested in your goals and by face timing, it allows both parties to be present and committed to the call, where as it’s easy to be distracted or multitasking, when you are just on a usual phone call.
Within the calls, we will discuss a variety of topics, inclusive but again not limited to the following. Review of current programme, your upcoming workout, performance from your prior workout, progress areas, as well as areas we need to work on. We will also discuss your nutrition, lifestyle barriers, stress levels; sleep patterns and general wellbeing and mind set.
Support is not just limited by the two face times call we have scheduled each week. I will be checking in with you throughout the week, opening it up for you to ask me any questions or queries you may have, or contacting me if you are having a bit of a rough day and thinking of not hitting that workout and need some motivation to do so. I want to ensure that you know that I am there throughout your journey.

One of the difficulties with online personal training, is that I am of course not present with you in the gym to check your form, when carrying out exercises, to ensure it is being done correctly and safely. However, to give you a guide on how to perform an exercise, I do provide video examples, to demonstrate how to set up and carry out the exercise safely.
